To the south of the Rispin will be the restored Historical Garden. The restoration is made possible from historical pictures supplied by the Capitola Museum. The Historical Garden is an additional acre of open space surrounding the Rispin. Built along with the original Rispin Mansion in 1922, this garden has a large lawn area (the great lawn) which measures more than 150’ long and 50’ wide, has a 4’ wide brick border and many cast-stone decorative works of art, including a sundial, overlook balustrade, a grand balustrade and stairway, a reflective pool and fountain, and a rose arbor. This area is open to the public and is available for guests use as well.
